I use an integrated Spelling approach in my classroom. The list words are obtained from a quantitative spelling inventory (a quarterly test showing me what spelling stage each child is performing). Your child will be instructed in small groups, independent work, and writing lessons regarding spelling patterns and word families they need to practice. This will be individualized to the best extent possible. The words will be tested on Friday. The lists will be sent home on Fridays with the Weekly Progress Report packet. Spelling progress will be reported at conference time.
